I've been head scratching about putting Master Cylinders in an 11CC Chief. Using Cleveland Master cylinders it requires moving the Left and Right Rudder torque tubes back about 1+1/2 inches.
Questions I have:
1) Matco makes master cylinders with a shorter pin to pin distance and also slightly smaller bore. If a Matco Master Cylinder could be squeezed in, would there be any major issues with using Matco Master Brake Cylinders since it is under the old CAR certification standard.
2)I have seen brake setups in Cubs with heel brakes where a cable runs to the master cylinder. I wonder if it would be easier to keep the cable attachment to the Chief brake pedals and have a short cable run to master cylinders under the floor boards. Likely one would have to remove the floor boards at annual to adjust for cable stretch, bleeding the master cylinders, etc but this would likely be easier than moving the rudder torque tubes. I will need between a 2 /1to 3 / 1 mechanical advantage to generate enough psi (400-600psi).

Glad you enjoy it! The new version of bulletin board is a lot nicer and has a lot more new features than before. Was well worth the upgrade process.

Have you made any progress with putting juice brakes in the Chief?
