As for the Champ/Chief fuel valves: the ICA has been turned in for FAA AIR60(?) in Kansas City, KS to pass their blessing on it. The drawings have been submitted to the DER for his final approval. Have not heard back from him as yet. I don't expect to have to make huge changes if any.

Just like all FAA STC projects, I counted on about four drawings to complete the set; wound up with 12 drawings, 6 per valve type. This STC will cover the nose tank valve; BAR-1-2403 and includes the copper screen soldered in the end fitting and a new stainless steel, die punched and formed universal joint.

The BAR-100-HD-06 main/aux valve will come with either the mounting adapter for installation as the main fuel valve for the Chief or with the BAR-2-937 mounting plate/bracket for installation as an aux tank valve in the Champ or Chief. You must specify when ordering this valve.

This way all that you will require is one STC to cover all the valves and their respective locations. I tried to make it all a simple as possible for all.

The valve bodies, parts and end fittings are in stock so as soon as I get approval and the STC then I can apply for PMA and can get going on the valves. There are still some parts that require fabrication and others that require modification. These part drawings must be approved before I start jumping the gun and make a bunch of parts that are not approved.

It wouldn't hurt to have those that are interested to email me and get on the list for which valves they need or want.

Cost per valve will vary depending on which valve is needed.

The BAR-1-2403 nose tank valve will be the most expensive because of the complexity of the parts that are required to make the valve; i.e., the new stainless steel u-joint, the stainless steel stem stop and modification of the stem to fit this configuration plus the new BAR-1-3617 copper screen that is soldered into the valve inlet. My best guesstimate at this time is $350.00-$385.00 range but this is just a guess.

The BAR-100-HD-06 valve that is used for the Chief main tank installation and Chief/Champ aux tank installation will be in the $250.00 range. In the Chief main valve installation the adapter/mounting bracket (7-839-9-2) that is used in the Sedan will be supplied to mount the valve in the original airframe location.

The third of these installations is the BAR-100-HD-06 valve installed in the aux tank position in the cabin wing root frame. This will come with a new mounting bracket (BAR-1-2930) that is identical to the original except that it will fit the new design valve. There is a placard that must be made by the installer and a drawing is included to do this. The original placard can be used as a pattern because the size is the same as original. The screw/rivet mounting pattern has been duplicated on the mounting bracket.

This should give you all some idea what to expect. If there are no corrections that are required by AEG in the ICA/installation document the STC should be signed this week or next. I will announce this on the forum pages as soon as it happens.

I'm a little new to Champs, so bear with me. I bought a 7Ac that has two aux wing tanks that feed to the main fuel tank. I need to replace the two aux fuel valves. I'd like some information on whether any of your designs would fit for that purpose. Do you have drawings you can share? If so, you can send to me at RRHaldeman@aol.com.

All of our valves are designed to fit as a direct replacement for your existing, old, leaking Imperial valves.

All of the fittings from your old valves, if serviceable, can be reused and installed onto the new valves. The wing
tank valves come with a new mounting plate that is identical to the original except it is designed to accept the new
valve's mounting design. All existing plumbing can be used, if serviceable, too.

Also, there is a drawing included to assist you in fabricating a new placard to indicate valve operation. These auxiliary
valves are $275.00 each.

My Aux tanks were not original equipment, but added years later. As now installed, the old Imperial valves are on each sidewall underneath the main tank so I'm having trouble understanding exactly where your new valves will be placed. Any photo of an installation to show?
