One of the guys at the airport was looking at the Chief and noticed that on the left side there is no scat hose going from the front baffling at the nose down
to the muffler cuff. This is the same side that comes off the cuff to the heat box, which I don't have. He said this helps cool the exhaust stack and could case a hot spot and possibly an over-heated cylinder? So basically on this side I have the cuff on the exhaust stack with nothing connected to it.

I do not know and wanted some input to see if it was something that does need adding or if it is a non-issue.

Having the SCAT hose on or off doesn't really affect anything. You'll do no harm either way because the little Continentals don't make that much heat (BTU's to be exact.)

You have no cabin heat? How do you keep your left foot warm in the cold weather? Do you have a plate covering the hole in the firewall where the heater box was?

If you aren't using the muff on the left side you might consider taking it off. They'll fit either side and you can keep it as a spare for the carb heat.
