National Aeronca Association Bulletin Board

I must be behind times, I just received a letter from the FAA stating my paper pilot certificate needs to be replaced by a plastic, security enhanced certificate. I cannot exercise flying privileges after March 31, 2010 (letter was sent on 4/23/2010).

What and how did I miss this one?

Also non-pilot certificates need to be replaced by March 31, 2013, per 14 CFR FAR Parts 63.15(d) and 65.15(d).

Has anyone else received this letter?

I got one several months ago, went online and registered, got my certificate shortly (week or two) later.

Did mine a long time ago but got it forced upon me. Anyone who flies overseas has to have one that says "english proficient" because the frigging frogs are making problems again.

You need to do it with any FAA license. This is also courtesy of the terrorists, who have forced us to change our lives in so many ways.
