I have a LYC 0-145 engine and can't quite turn my new 36LY70 prop. It is great for cruising but a little sluggish on climbout (about 2350 rrrr's) It should turn 2550 at full power on initial climb. I am looking for a Sensenich 34LY70 prop used. Sensenich gets about 1650 bucks for a new prop, I am hoping to find a used one from one of you guys that are changing engines from the LYC to the Continental. Any one out there?

What other airplanes would this prop fit?

You see them on Ebay and Barnstormers from time to time. Might keep an eye there.

Actually, there's conflicting data in the Lycoming Operator and OH manuals. One says 2550 is max RPM in level flight, the other says it is on climb.

Quite frankly no fixed prop airplane I've ever flown reaches redline during t/o and climb -- and shouldn't.

I don't think you'll find the wood prop gives you much other than an original look.

I'll have to look it up -- it's the Sensenich metal prop -- but on T/O roll I'm seeing maybe 2400....once level it can exceed 2550 if I let it.
