Just joined the board,
Hello from Northwestern WI ! ...
Were the Super Chief emblems both facing the front (left & right) or were both sides the same?
I understand it was a $25 option and there were few
takers back in 1946 or so.
Not sure what else came with the package if anything.

My understanding of the situation:
The 'SuperChief' is usually referring to a 11CC, which is 1947-1949 (50-51). If you have a 1946 plane, it's a simple 11AC. Stock painted emblem is the stenciled on winged Aeronca logo, with the stenciled Tall A logo coming at the very end of the year for the 47 models. The Chief in 1948 had a script along the cowling for the Aeronca logo. The only Chief name badge was on the panel for the 1946 models. The Scout of 1947 had the "Aeronca Scout" in cursive font on the panel.

Thanks for the info,
I have 2 badges both the same, so I had thought they went on the sides.
Where was the badge positioned on the panel.?

My website has a photo of a 11CC panel, note the toe brakes, at

There is also a panel blueprint that I donated to the old AAC club years ago.
