Air Filter for O-145-B2
The Brackett catalog doesn't list an application for the O-145-b2. Anyone added a filter to this engine?
(Right now I have small diameter screen material over the intake -- no filter)

Dan,
You may need to change air-boxes. Some of the early stuff had no filters and after market suppliers made the air box and filter for the applications.

Paul -- where do I start? The only "air box" I see is the metal oblong tube that runs from the cowling to the carb.Paul Agaliotis wrote:Dan,

Dan,
Take a look at an Ercoupe air box. It uses a little round filter that should look good on your plane. I have a customer with a M18 Mite and he made one work for it.

I'll do that -- my A&P has an old Ercoupe in his hangar...Paul Agaliotis wrote:Dan,

Type certificate 210 lists a Chevrolet air filter p/n 1529265 under note #3 for the O-145. I suppose it's good luck finding one of those. Here's a link to the TC. jrh

Re: Air Filter for O-145-B2
I have a '41 Chief with the 0-145 Lyc. engine. I have some great pictures of the carburetor, air box and brackett filter that fits the original cowling perfectly. I broused and did everything I know to get these pictures on this post but unfortunately I am really confused when it comes to this sort of "art" work. If you would send me your e-mail address I will mail you pictures of my Chief, and the work I have done on the airfilter, carb, air box etc. Trust me it would be easier if I knew how to get my pictures from picassa to this post.
