The pins come out easily. Then the sticks won't budge. Don't want to screw anything up. Help!

Probably corroded at the base. Spray some fluid designed to work on corroded metal, wait a day and twist the control stick clockwise and counterclockwise to break the stick free from the corrosion that formed.

That was my thought. Thanks for conformation.

I had to use a strap wrench the first time I pulled a stick from the socket.

Mine were in very tight also. Had to twist and pull at the same time to get them out.

I had the same problem with the sticks in my 7CCM when I bought it. After spraying and twisting, they came out. When I re-installed, I put a little bit of that thick grey grease that a local mechanic had, on them before putting them back in (I cleaned, primed and repainted them first) and they go in and out easily now.

Thanks.... They're both out now & are in the process of being painted. Funny Story: I had forgotten to tell a friend who is allowed to fly my Champ that I had removed the control sticks. This morning I get a phone call from him saying that he & our CFI were going to use the plane for his bi-annual, but someone had stolen the d**m sticks right out of my plane. Beautiful....
