Thought I'd show you southern boys what you're missing. I've been plowing with the old "H" Farmall this morning and hardly made a dent in it. Wind is 20-30 mph and it was snowing at the rate of one inch per hour. I'm guessing we have 8-10 inches right now and still coming down, then supposed to drop to -5 tonight with a high of 5 above tomorrow.

For some reason I couldn't edit the previous post and add to it but as Paul Harvey (RIP) used to say "Here's the rest of the story".

I think we have the same system here in southwest IA Mike....

24 hours ago it was 50 degrees and calm. Now it's 10 degrees and the wind is 36 gusting 46. Nasty nasty day.

The Champ won't be getting any use this weekend..... The sleds will though

Don't know where I'd put any more snow . The TV just said 18+ inches and the wind is gusting over 30. TV also said -15 below Tuesday night. I can hardly wait . I tell my Texas friends you have to be tough to live up here in the winter.

Nice thing is, once the snow is taken care of, I can turn the heat up in the shop, work on the L16 project and look out the window.

And you guys live up there because you like it??????? Sorry I just don't understand. I hate the winters!!! Give me the hot humid summers in the south.

I lived up there the first 22 years of my 76 year life--nice place to visit in the Summer. But you did send us the wind today.

Trust me, they have heat too. Maybe not the all summer long highs of 90-95 degrees like we get here in Atlanta, but the first time I went to Minneapolis in the summer, I was expecting long days of 78 degree weather. It was over 100F with T-storms and mosquitos the size of buzzards every day. That was at the start of August. I figure the lakes froze over for the winter a couple of weeks later.

Kyleb, Did you get any snow over at your place. We got 4-5" over night. It doesn't snow here very often. I don't even own a snow shovel. I spent the morning sweeping snow with a broom.

Just a bit of sleet this morning. I'm in Marietta, and I don't think we've had meaningful snow anywhere locally...

Gonna put the skis on and life will be awesome!! Nothing like ski flying.

I have skis too (Federal 1850's). Great fun flying with all kinds of landing places. I have Good Year brakes though and it's a real hassle to get them apart to put the skis on. Plus, tough to get the Champ in and out of the hangar. Especially with a four foot drift in front of the door.

It's a real mess around here. I've belonged to the same church for 70+ years and this is the first time I can remember Sunday services cancelled.

I may be tempted to put the skis on, though.

We got about 14" just north of St Paul, and Osceola WI (where Champion built 7EC's) got 23".
Yeah we like it, it makes us tough, kills the mosquitos and forces the riff raff to move down south.

I went out to the hangar intending to shovel the snow and all the wind blew the snow away from in front of the door, absolutely nothing there. But there was a 4' drift on the opposite or leeward side though.
