Glide ratio for L16A (7BCM)

Does anyone know what the glide ratio is for the Aeronca L16A? My US Army POH for the aircraft indicates that the best glide speed for this model is 55 sm/hr. As I recall I have seen decent rates on my rate of decent meter of about 700 ft/m which would give a Glide Ratio of about 7.0.

Calculation: Glide Ratio = Vfwd/Vdown = 55 sm/hr (5280 ft/sm)(1/60sec/m)/700 ft/m =6.9
