National Aeronca Association Bulletin Board

Has anyone heard about the Aeronca Flabob ca. fly-in to be held on May 20-21, 2011?

Its shown on their calendar on these dates.

Its a good 4-5 hour flight for me from Phoenix but not that far.

Somebody with an L3 - please fly down so I can get a ride!

I'll be there; Flabob is my usual airport, apart from Corona.

One last shout-out to see if anyone from the North West is flying down. It would be nice to have company. Planning to leave Thursday by noon, overnight half way and arrive Friday for dinner.
Weather permitting on all of the above, I've no interest in getting stuck somewhere or having a bad time.

If you saw my post on the fAA Aeronca list, you know what my life was like for 11 days before this.

Sadly did not make it to Flabob... maybe next year.

Wow! Thanks for the photo show. Really neat and I enjoyed it. Quite a bit different country than here in the Midwest. Can you believe, I'm into my 6th Decade and I've never seen California?

Save your money. Once you've seen Iowa, you'd never be satisfied with California!

Seen it Hell; I live it. I even retired here after a 33 year hiatus in Colorado. That's what I think of Iowa and I could have retired anywhere. Although I do think I need to have a conversation with the flying Gods. They seem to keep screwing with me now.

p.s. I didn’t want to say anything bad about California because I know that there are good people on this site from that area but most of what I’ve seen and heard from California convince me that alien life forms have landed on our planet and many of them live there. I never had the burning desire to investigate the left coast. But you got to admit, the pictures were pretty.

California is a hudge and wealthy state, with a diverse population which includes hard working and productive people, among others. Also a state government which has grown out of control satisfying conflicting and contradictory demands. Sound familiar?
All a bit much for me. Man's got to know his limitations, flying a Champ in Oregon is about all I can handle on a regular basis. That and a week at OSH of course.
