Hello all and nice to meet you!

My name is Nichole and I am helping my uncle restore his 1941 TF-65. He has had it for years, inherited it from his father, but it hasn't been airworthy for a little over a decade. It needs some serious work, the biggest being replacing the engine.

We live out in Washington State, and cannot find anybody dealing in Franklin engines, let alone one of a low enough hp for the TF. For that reason we are changing to a Continental engine for it. This means a new engine frame and changing the cowling to fit the engine.

We are currently having a place in Canada fabricate the engine frame and know where to get a continental engine (the exact model escapes me right now). What we are working on is getting the plans for a TC-65 with the cowl configuration we need and setting up the hangar to weigh the aircraft.

I'll post some pics once i find my camera.

Nicole,

Welcome on board.

If you need help with the TF, Kosola engine mounts in Georgia has been very good to us in the past.

Hope you guys have most if not all of the other parts as some of the old "T" series planes and parts can be difficult. If you are missing something check here and we might know of some sources.

Nicole,
Welcome to the our group!!!!

I'm in Renton. I don't have a Tandem, but I can certainly help with a lot of your questions. I'd love the opportunity to look over a TF project. I've got most of my toys out at Crest.

What Craig forgets to say is that he currently has 12 or 13 Aeronca's, so knows a lot about them. He is a pre-war expert so a good asset in this area.
