Josh 3 hr flight time. at times we had 105 mph ground speed lots of fun flying over the mississippi river. ive got a few thing to tend to first ( tail wheel check out. and bi annual) got some picture to post when my computer son stops tomarrow. well git these ol champs togather some time this summer. and compaire the two of them. later Bob

Nice looking ship. You'll have good times ahead. It looks like it has a Continental engine. I'm wondering, what does it weigh both empty and gross?

Agree and glad to see it has the upgraded brakes and nice wooden prop!

Carl it a bit hever then the old 7ac,s it has the aluminmum spars. there hever then the old wood spars. i dont have the wb in front of me just now. but the gross is 1220 . Joe the prop is a flottorp i think its a cruse prop. its a 72 a 50 but will now more as time goes on. thanks Bob

Can it be 1220# with the spring front gear? Don't think I've ever seen a 7AC with the spring gear... but then there's a lot of stuff I've never seen .

Mike its not a aeronca its a Bellanca 7aca bilt on the old aeronca 7ac licences form 1971 and 72.

Aha! Being from Wisconsin (NW part) I should have known that. A bunch of us that were teaching in the industrial arts fields toured the factory at Osceola when they were building the Champs around that time, although it seems to me the Bellancas were built in Minneota, too for short time. I know the factory burned down later.

Anyway, that clears it up.
