Is there a Bendix mag for an A-65 that has an impulse? Where would I find em?

About 9 years ago, I bought my Chief with impulse Bendix mags on it. About a hundred hrs later an AD was due on them at the annual. Inspection revieled that they had excessive wear (and some broken internal parts). Slick was having a super sale on new impluse Slicks with the trade in of your old mags. I did and am guessing many folks did the same with their older mags including Bendix.

The best bet would be to find the S4RN mag.
The earlier Bendix SF4 did use an impluse on some mags but are pretty much obsolete. Unless you have some experience with them I would choose the S4RN.

All I know is my standard non impulse Bendix mags start on the first pull nearly every time with a cold engine. Warm engine usually by the 2nd pull.

this is with a metal sensenich prop.

I'm starting to wonder what the big deal is over impulse mags when mine starts so easily without them?????

My Tandem has the lunch box mags and they work perfectly. They are so hot they don't need an impluse. As they started to lighten up the mags the impluse became more important. The SF4 impulse set up is getting hard to find because so few were needed.

Anyone have a parts list for the SF4RN-8? I've got an overhaul project going on.

I have always used Savage Magneto. in Hayward California, around the Oakland area,2415 Radley Court#7 Hayward California 94544. I use the Lunch box mags to, Never had an AD note on them. Savage also will do the harness in the old Black wireing, Clips or shielded. Price wise they are a litttle high but really do fine work, and stand behind there product. They are Bar None!!!!!
