Packing Gland

Post by Dennis »

I need two packing glands, part # 1-319, for the oleo strut assy. Wag does not list them in their catalog but I will call Wag tomorrow to verify they do not have them. If they do not have the packing glands, does anyone have two they are willing to sell?

Thanks, Dennis

Dave Rude on this forum is a good source for parts. He also overhauls landing gear strut assy's and his work is excellent.

Thanks Joe,

I got the glands in today and already have them on the plane. Crossing my fingers.....I think the leaks are gone.

I have a number of punch list items to take care of. Next on the list is the fuel gauge. For some reason it is not indicating fuel in the tank. I thought I had a new cork on it. I'll pull it out tomorrow and check it out.

Dennis,
Have you made the initial flight yet or still solving the little gremlins that seem to pop up? I've been pecking away at the L16 almost every day but it always seems like it's fix one problem and something new appears. Going for coffee with the other loafers takes time too  . I'm pretty sure I spent a solid month off and on making the adapter plate to get the correct angle for the air cleaner to exit the nose bowl. We finally made the prototypes out of wood until it was close and then machined a new one out of aluminum.

May check in with you at Oshkosh. Unsure what day(s) I'll be going as it's mostly weather dependent but usually during the first part of the week rather than the weekend.
