Does anyone have or know where I can get the clamp on dorsal for 7AC conversion. Not Univair.

Yep, I've got one, but you don't want it! I was talking to Bill Pancake at the last Aeronca Fly In about the dorsal fin conversion you are interested in. I noticed that of all the planes at the fly in with the larger dorsal fin, not all of them looked the same. Bill said that in the past, a common practice to make your own clamp on kit involved taking the leading edge of a J-3 horizontal stabilizer and adding your own clamps. I knew the one I owned didn't look like the one in the Aeronca blueprint, so I couldn't wait to get home to check it out. I laid my clamp on dorsal fin on top of the tail piece of my Cub and it matched exactly - an imposter part. If anyone is considering installing one of these things, please get the Aeronca blueprint CD from Todd Trainor and compare it to your part. An IA would be reluctant to sign off a nonconforming part. It seems that every time I talk to Bill Pancake, I learn something new!

The NAA also has a large collection of original factory blueprints. Todd's site is down for a while so if you know the blueprint number, let one of us know and we can hopefully get it for you.
