7AC Baggage Compartment Channel Locations

Does anyone have dimensions for locating the forward and aft channels that are used to install the baggage compartment framework? These two pieces were removed from my 7AC frame when the previous owner installed a "greenhouse" modification to the aircraft. I am restoring it to original configuration and don't have the Aeronca drawings that show where to locate the channels on the tubes. I have the channel material but don't have the length or location info I need. I have the CD of Aeronca drawings, but apparently the drawing I need is not available.

Thanks for any help with this that might be available. 8)

Try drawing 7-450. It should be on the DVD. You'll have to zoom in quite a bit but the location of the two channels is shown on this drawing.

John,
I did find that drawing, but it is of poor quality and I am still not sure of the dimensions. It looks like the length of the 3-467 channel is 28 1/2" and my copy of the drawing is not readable for the length of the 3-468 channel. I wondered if you or perhaps someone else on the forum might be able to verify those dimensions for me either from a better quality drawing or maybe measuring for me on an uncovered fuselage? I think I can read enough other reference dimensions on the drawing to locate the proper position of each channel on its tubes. Also, it appears as though the 3-467 channel mounts on the aft side of tubes #28 and 3-468 mounts on the forward side of tubes #29. One other quick question...are these channels welded in place or fastened with screws?
Thanks so much for the help, it is sometimes not easy to fix what someone else has messed up!!

I believe that part 3-468 is 23" long and part 3-467 is 28 1/2" long. 3-467 is 4 1/2" above the reference line and 3-468 is 4 15/16" above the reference line. You are correct about the forward and aft position of the parts. The parts are welded in place. Contact me offline and I can provide you some additional info.

Chip,
During the renovation of N83729, I took quite a few photos and I have some of the baggage area that may help you. If you send me an email with yours, I can email 5-6 of them that may help you.
