10 year "inspection".

It's been 10 years since I first flew 83688 and since I have my L16 in flying order (after five years restoration) I decided to haul the Champ home and give her a little tender love and care. I've flew many hours in this 'sweet heart' so she deserves it. Besides it will keep me busy for a few months. Everyone should have two Aeroncas... one to fly and another to work on... or so I've been told. I've had a few inquires about selling her but think I'm going to hang on for now and gives me a good reason to get up in the morning.
I ran a cold cylinder leakage (compression) test on her this morning. All over 73# although I could hear a slight exhaust leak on one cylinder which will take some investigation.
I want to give the wings a good 'look see' as they were covered by someone else before I bought the project. All I did was repaint them in my colors.
Here's a handy tool I bought from Harbor Frieght. I think the price was around $85 on sale. It has a 36" lighted probe and a screen on the butt end (make that handle end, I was thinking of something else
). Anyway, it allows you to take a good look inside the wings for damage, etc. It will also fit inside a 18 MM spark plug hole like borescope. Related to the above, I suppose you could also use it to do your own colonoscopy

I tend not to want to buy stuff from HF as almost everything is made in China but this was too good to pass up.
