Please don't take this as gospel because I might be wrong, but I seem to remember them as KP-4. That's just from memory, I'll try to look up my old paper work later today and try to come up with a definite answer. I know I replaced mine and staked in the new ones with Locktight.

You may be able to re-pack the bearings. I did on my 7ECA. The shield was retained by a snap ring. I was able to use a scribe to lift the snap ring and then disassemble the shield for cleaning and re-packing.

FYI, I recently was introduced to a new-to-me method for removing old grease from ball & roller bearings. I was having trouble removing old grease from a double-row bearing. Normal solvent removed a lot of the material but left sizable chunks of a soft, pasty material. I was told that the stuborn material was a soapy ingrediant used to thicken the grease and it was not soluble in petroleum products. The cure? Just soak the bearing in Pine Sol cleaner and then wash with water from a hose spray nozzle! Pine Sol quickly disolved the remaining junk and the bearing was perfectly clean.
Be sure to quickly dry the bearing and to coat it with grease or oil to prevent the clean metal from rusting.

You need two different bearings. The ones that go in the aileron hinge brackets are KP4A bearings. The one that goes in the bellcrank assembly is P/N 05-08400 at Aircraft Spruce. It is listed as a Stinson part.

Nathan Hammond's N2120E thread in the restoration forum shows how to replace the bearings.

Bill,
I've found it easier to drill the rivets out for the OB hinges. Sometimes the staking of the bearings gets pretty banged up if you try to press them out.

Here is the part number for the bracket (2-689) bearing => MS27641-4G

Univair has them. About $20 each.
