Serial number listing for 7AC series aircraft

Is there a serial number listing for the 7AC series out there? I have a data plate from a 7AC that was given to me by a friend years ago. I looked up the serial number on the FAA website and they do not have a listing for it. Any other way to birddog the serial number?

Dave,
The easiest way is to send an email to the FAA and ask for the records based on the serial number. Most times they will tell you that "this serial number was once registered as Nxxxxx". Order it and keep your fingers crossed. The FAA site wont allow you to search for an aircraft that doesn't have current registration.
