WARWICK 2012 AERONCA FLY IN

Hi All,

Based on last years attendance and the comments that I received, I want to hold the Annual Warwick Aeronca, Tube and Fabric and Misc. Aircraft Fly In a little earlier. Since the summer vacation season seems to be from Memorial Day to about Labor Day weekends and to get this in after Sun and Fun and before Oshkosk, I have set a tentative date for Saturday May 18th with a rain date of Sunday May 19th.

People could come in on Friday or Saturday and Camping on the field would be fine. We have toilets, though no showers. Transportation to and from the town of Warwick and the area will be available.

Seaplanes can be accomidated at Greenwood Lake or a few small low powered ones at the lake at Warwick Airport (with prior notification and approval.)

Although special parking, lunch and awards will be given to Aeroncas, all are welcome.

If anyone has comments about the dates, please let me know.

Regards, Robert Aeronca 7CCM N38SM

Might want to check your calendar again; Saturday is the 19th and Sunday is the 20th this year in May.

Hi Mike and Pat, Thank you for the notes. I did screw up when I typed the thread up, though I knew the correct dates.

In any case, I have already had a number of people from last year's send me notes that they are coming (and telling me also about the dates.) I will have at least one car available from about 10:00 AM on , on Friday the 18th. Last year a couple of people camped and a couple went to the Holiday Inn Express.

The main date will be Saturday the 19th with Sunday the 20th as the Rain date. I plan on being there all three days, rain or shine.

Warwick is in Orange County, New York. About 12 miles from the New Jersey Northern Border and 65 miles from New York City. 14 miles south of Steward Newburg Airport.

Greenwood Lake is half in New Jersey and half in New York. Seaplane opertations are only allowed on the New York Side and I will make some docking availabe as well as transportation.

Speaking of States, We have a group that will be having a Splash In at Sepctor (Adirondack Park New York) - The first weekend in June. Fuel is available from Helms on Long Lake.

Thanks again.

Regards, Robert

Now that this even is only just a little over a month away, please let me know if you think you will attending, if you will be bringing anyone and if you will be arriving in an Aeronca. I way over purchased food last year and want to try to be a little closer to my actual needs.

With only 3 positive responses, I may cancel this.

Looks like we will have a reasonable number of planes. If you are coming, please use runways 21 / 3 - Left or right (Paved or Grass) depending on the wind as we will have 26 / 8 closed for parking.

I will be there early and we will fire up the BBQ from about 11:30 til 1:00.

Hope to see a few of you there.

Regards, Robert

Sorry that I did not get to meet more of you, but the weather was perfect, the turnout was good, the food was terrific and the the Aeronca Talk was the best. We even let a Lone Legend Cub drop in.

This was a super flyin. Great people, good food, pretty champs, picaresque airport, and fantastic weather.
Thanks again to Robert for providing a fun spring flyin.
