does anyone know what to call the brass fitting 3/8 thread female to 3/8 compression female that screws into engine block so you can hook up your oil line for pressure. it has large hole on the 3/8 thread side on compression very small opening.
i need one for a a65 engine.

Dan,
Wag Aero has a restricted fitting 1/8 male x 1/8 female that screws into the side of the block. I assume that's what you're looking for. I believe the block size is 1/8 inch. Anyway, part number A-1243-003. Others have soldered a fitting shut then drilled a small hole in the solder to prevent losing all the oil if the line should break.

I had to replace mine and got it from Don at Don's Dream Machine in Atlanta. My understanding is that the whole size in the reducer is critical, especially if the line to the oil pressure gauge breaks or come undone as the oil will flow out under pressure. If I remember correctly, the hole was supposed to be a No. 60 Drill if that makes sense.

Sounds like the C-85 installation is moving along.

so far the only problem was this fitting. it's a very easy conversion. the 85 fit right in no mods to do. have to put 2 stiffiners in the cabin, change the tac it backwards, have some placards to do, redi my airspeed indicater markings. i was amazed the baffling needed no mods. i'm doing it on a 7aca which was never done before. don't see any problems.

I just cut a deal on another Chief with an 0-200. Should have it before the Fly In also, but by then it will be on floats.

The 65 baffling some times needs a little more room around the exhaust side of the cylinder. The 65 and 85 use different baffling. I've seen planes with them used interchangeably.
