Medical Exemption Update

I thought I would keep pushing for those in the NAA to sign the medical exemption petition. They already have over 15,000 comments. The exemption would allow pilots to fly up to four seat, fixed gear gear aircraft up to 180 horsepower using only two of the four seats. I would hope that people would see the sense in reducing unneeded regulation of the the flying community. This is our opportunity to be heard.

If we do this, EVERY Aeronca product as it came out of the factory would not require a medical certificate by using thier driver's license. Think about that!

Here's the email I and many others got today:

Good morning everyone. No real updates are available, just thought I’d let everyone know that as of this morning the FAA has received 15,326 public comments on this petition for exemption.

Projected timeline – the end of the public comment period remains set at September 14, 2012. We also expect the FAA to take 4 – 6 months to render their full acceptance, partial acceptance, or denial of the petition decision.

We’ll keep you informed as we hear more information.
