We are trying to do an upgrade on the bulletin board today.

It might go down for a bit, or even longer. Trying to upgrade it to get rid of the spammers!

The board is back up now and with the latest greatest software updates.

Now hopefully the spammers will have a much more difficult time bothering us!

Looks good Joe.

Only issue I've come across is the "view active topic" hot link. It comes up blank, or I should say it shows no new post. Otherwise, all good.

Will trade you! I have it coming up with every post in the last year on this page!

Lets see what it shows tomorrow after things reset themselves.

Hopefully a good portion of the spammer issue will be gone as well!

Interesting... cleared my cache and it came up fine... then used a browser that I never use (thus no cache) and comes up fine as well.

Mine is still blank, however the NEW POSTS on the right hand side is providing me with nearly the same info.

When you say blank, do you mean a totally white page with nothing on it, or the usual page with none of the new threads on it?

That is correct. I am using Chrome and just checked it in Firefox with the same results. I took a screenshot and will try to send it to you via PM

Thanks...its not a blank page but a bulletin board page with no info on it. No posts that is.

We were having a problem with a blank white page coming up but have (we hope) fixed that.

After resetting cookies and rebooting the iPad, the "view active" still is not working. Plus, I've noticed considerably slower loads times for the site. Hopefully php can give some insight.

Mine is still blank also and using the View New Posts on the side works, but only for those you have not viewed in the past. Once viewed you can not find them.

Well folks, still chugging away at things.

I get the "View new posts" fine on my end and still cannot figure out why others cannot see it.

Next, evidently our doing the upgrade sorta pissed some folks off, namely the ones in Russia, China, India and other places where spammers live. They started hassling us again and so I banned their IP address, which was kinda like hitting a hornets nest with a stick.

We had over 1000 spammer registrations in the last two days, more than we have ever had, so this morning I shut down all new registration on the board. First this will keep them totally off of the board but also it will keep any valid Aeronca person from registering as well. Not going to last forever but will try it for a few days to see if they lose interest.

If anyone on the board knows of anyone who wants to register, please let me know and will work with them to get them on the board.
