Ski Champ!!!!!

Post by lowflyer »

After a year and a half of looking at them hanging up,,, I made it out on the skis yesterday!!

I had never been around skis, so I spent a little time taxiing and ground handling first.

That is so much fun!! I flew it to my house (picture) and all around the countryside. Had to finally stop at nightfall.

I have snow envy! I'm in the SE part of the state and we are in the snow doughnut hole. Dry as a popcorn fart. I flew yesterday and just 30 miles north I could have used my skis on a buddies strip. I repainted my skis last winter and replaced all the cables and bungees and am SO ready to go but the snow God's are not cooperating.

Got room in the hangar for another Champ? I'll bring my own cot and heater.

No room in my hangar, but we could find room inside somewhere at the airport (HNR)

Or you can just come fly my Champ. Plenty of room at the house. You have to like kids though. I have four of them and number 5 is cooking...

Josh,

Do you happen to have the lengths for the cables and bungees available? I have a set of skis that I want to put my 7CCM, but the wires and bungees are for a different airplane, and I do not know what lengths to mak up. I do have the attachment tabs from the cables, as the past owner had skis on it, but I did not get these skis with the plane.

Thanks Bob

Sure thing Bob,

I plan to go flying tomorrow. I'll measure that stuff up for you. My skis are Federal 1850s.

I feel like I lucked out. The rigging was perfect as received.

Thanks for the help. Mine are Federal 1500s, so probably different. Maybe someone else has the information. Bob
