Road Trip, Pacific Northwest

Post by Paul Agaliotis »

It's looking like I will be heading up to Salem,OR to get a Chief for sure, and possibly central Washington. If anyone needs something moved North from the SF Bay area let me know. Should be in early March.

Richard,
When I get the route confirmed I'll let you know. Currently I plan to stop in Salem for the Chief and then up to Hood River to get some stuff Craig left for me. The wings that were in Chehalis are a little uncertain right now. I'll keep updating as I get more info.

Believe that Scott Gifford is in Hood River... well worth stopping in there.

Joe,
I think I'll drag Carl along with me, and we would like to stop and shoot the shot with anyone up there. Craig dropped an E-113 crank off so I can look at making some new ones. He left it with Tom at the museum. I ended up picking up a KM, and part of the deal included a bunch of Aeronca engine parts.
It still looks like early March and the trailer and truck is going up empty.

Richard,
Yes, this Saturday. I was taking some vacation days and transposed the numbers.
It looks like I'm meeting Tom at the WAAM museum on Sunday to pick up the crankshaft Craig left for me. I sure would like to take their LC around the patch a time or two.
If anyone wants to meet up there I'll be looking out for you.

Paul,

I promise to look you up the next time I make it to California. If I don't get out there in my Champ this summer, I have been lobbying the wife to go to South Dakota and visit the base I was stationed at in the Air Force, and then work our way through Yellowstone, over to Seattle and down the coast to see some Redwood Trees.

Enjoy your trip!

Hope you have a great trip. We just returned from moving Gareth Gilson from Carlsbad CA back home to Phoenix. Three days but its done and he is unloaded and in the apartment now.

Hope you guys have fun and see a lot of aviation stuff! :)

Thanks Joe,
I tend to fill up the trailer with goodies before I get home. There is always something I think I need. I'll need to do some rearranging when I get back to find some room for this Chief.
If someone needs some assistance while I'm on the road, post it and I'll check it daily.

So Paul,

Would Fairbanks be out of your way. I do think it qualifies as being "northwest"?

Its pretty sad when it costs more to drive to the airport than to fly your plane, but for guys driving diesels its about came to that. And Mogas isnt far behind. Wish I could buy some gas.
