Bill Pancake 11CC restoration

Post by bwmatz »

Congratulations to Bill Pancake on another award winning restoration! This 1949 11CC Aeronca Super Chief N4628E an owned by the late Dave Long was an award winner at EAA 1978 and 1998. The Chief was recently purchased by Damon Duree of Oakland, CA. Damon flew it to the National Aviation Heritage Invitational in Reno where it was judged Best In Class.

What caught my eye is the barrels with the Aeronca brochure in full color printed on them, with the twin tailed Chum! ... how in the world.....and the Chief is beautiful too!

Good eyes Mark.

I noticed the drum and completely missed the Chum.

Very sharp, Mark. I sure hope the story of the Chum on the Barrel gets more explanation. It is a real natural evolution of this thread.
