Factory dope
Factory applied fabric that already had one coat on it as they applied it. So they only sprayed two coats! And the lightweight cotton was only expected to be on for ten years at the most.

They also used hot dope for the covering. It's no wonder there were so many dope room explosions.

Average recover was 4-5 years depending on where it sat and what area (mostly outdoors)--labor was cheap then and so were the Aeronca's..
