The Sedan is in the Water

Launched the Sedan this weekend. Now in the water at Island Bob's as it is know. Griffin Island / August Field, Fort Edward, New York. Wish I could add a photo, but seems the site is full. Rebuilt at the same time as my old Chief, they are exactly the same in color, paint scheme and features. Since the Chief is still in the area, I will check with Gene Henry, who now owns it and see if he wants to do some Mother / Daughter Flying Together!

That is just sooo cool. Water, trees, blue skies and a plane on floats. It doesn't get anymore perfect than that. Might just be a glimpse of what Heaven must be like.

Its a very serene location. If you look up August field, that is a Private Grass Strip on an Island in the Hudson River just south of Fort Edward, New York. On one side of the island is the Hudson River and the channel markers for the Lawrence Canal, that runs concurrent with the river until at Glens Falls the Hudson River turs west and the canal head north toward Lake George.
On the other side of the island is the Seaplane Channel, where the Sedan is Docked. I can fly up to the Island from Long Island New York, land on the grass strip and play for days in the Adirondack Park. There is even a Bunk House on the island that I have access too.
Used to keep my Chief there, which is the same location as my Avitar of the Chief and there are 4 other Seaplanes based there as well as transients and there is fuel on the island for those of us that participate in it. As you can see from my Avitar and based on the fact that the same shop built both planes at around the same time, it is like Mother and Daughter.
Yes a little bit of heaven and great fun in the winter on Skis.

Good to see another Sedan floatplane in the Northern part of NY. I've been flying mine out of Raquette Lake for two years now, and it has been GREAT!
