Pilot Operating Handbook

Post by bob turner »

I was just looking at a POH. It was real official-looking, but kind of not what you'd expect for a 1947 Chief. It had maybe fifty checklist items for "before engine start", and continued from there, with even a checklist for contacting ATC on 121.5.

Did Aeronca support a POH or AFM. for the Chief? There is nothing referenced in the TCDS, and no ACA 309.

Back in the 40s, placards where use in lieu of Operating Handbooks. I printed out a Military L-16B operating handbook though for my 7CCM, it's civilian equivalent. I made my own for my chief.
