I purchased my Champ at the first of September, shortly thereafter I purchased a Becker 6201com radio with factory wiring harness, during the time of purchase and for quick use I put in a handheld and portable intercom to get started flying and waiting my turn at the avionics shop. The guy at the avionics shop got me a quote this week of $3510.11 thats radio installation, ptt buttons front and rear, headset jacks front and rear and external antenna, I've decided at tht price I will keep the portable in the plane and install an external antenna and be done with it. I paid $1225.00 for the radio and $319.00 for the wiring harness from Aircraft Spruce on 9-10-21 I haven't checked yet but I know the restocking fees are going to hit me hard. Im capable of building a bracket to mount the radio but thats about the limit of my capability I know enough about the wiring to know I could fry something .
If anyone is interested in this radio please contact me, maybe we can workout something to save you some $$$ and not cost me so much in restocking fees.
Thanks Randy

I was able to install my Becker in my Chief by myself. Did need a sign off especially for the weight and balance though. It is a nice radio. Did the same with the Becker Miniature Transponder.

Bob, I guess you could say I have a desire to fiy this thing and not take on another project on it but given time and if I still have the radio I'll probably tackle it.

Thanks again for referring me to Kirk Price he finished up with me Tuesday morning, and he is a great guy and CFI.

Glad that worked for you Randy. We will have to meet up out there one of these days. We have relatives in Shiloh, Ohio.
