Continental Cylinders

I've been eye balling up the A65 parts I have stored in my shop, deciding what to keep and what to 'recycle'. Probably a 'moot point'; but how long did Continental use brass intake seats, or a better question would probably be: when did they quit using them? Obviously, old technology, although some of the old engines seemed to run forever.

When/if I ever get around to building up a spare A65, I'm going to use Superiors. I'm assuming they have hardened seats and ni-resist guides, etc. Had a price from a dealer for new Superiors for $3550 plus shipping.
The left over funds from selling the Cherokee must be burning a hole in my pocket.

Mike,

One thing to think about is that the price is not going to get any cheaper and many companies raise their prices after the New Year. Might be worth ordering a new set if you want them anyway, and make sure that you get "todays" price as opposed to chancing a higher price in 5 weeks.
