plywood bulkheads

I need new bulkheads (or formers) for an L-16 (7BCM) or the drawings to make them from. WagAero is B/O on most all the stuff from SafeAir Repair. HELP!!!!

Try Buzz Wagner, Clark,SD 605-532-3862
In his old parts book he list, Part Number 7114
7 Series Wood Patterns All Models.
Probably worth a call anyway.

If you are putting in the greenhouse remember that the first bulkhead in the fuselage aft of the baggage compartment is different than a standard 7AC.

I would caution your buying anything from "Buzz". Many of us over the years, have had poor results in the parts purchased from him.

I would also call Rainbow Aviation at Mose Lake, Washington. He sells bulkheads for 7AC thru American champion.

Richards comment is right on. BW has a lot of things that no one else has but anyone who has not dealt with him before needs to tread slowly.

I got the patterns fro BW but they don't look exactly like the new pieces I was able to get from WagAero before they B/Oed everything due to a lack of venders. Got any suggestions?

Send them back to BW immediately. Hopefully, he will return your money.
BW's poor quality of products, have been discussed on this forum over the years.

I am restoring my 7ec currently. The bulkheads and stringers are in storage. If you are not rushed for time, I can make a pattern set from the bulkheads. I do not have the greenhouse bulkhead.

He won't take the "patterns" back. He even went so far as to say the bulkheads are the same in all the models. Oh well. I ordered a set from Rainbow flying. I wish someone had pointed me to him earlier! Thanks for all the great help. The membership fee is well worth it and I will recommend this club to all my vintage friends!!

I purchased a set from SAR a while back. I just got one side. The L/H and R/H are identical, so I saw no need to get both sides. I used a router table and small laminate bit to duplicate the ones I rec'd from SAR to make both the R/h and L/H sides. I used 5 ply a/c grade mahagony avail. from A/C Spruce. The 5 ply a/c plywood made some VERY VERY nice formers that won't warp like the 3 ply formers are prone to do. Hope this helps.

SAR was bought out by WagAero. Almost everything from SAR is backordered for who knows how long!

Wag was very good to honor the Safe Air's backlog. Unfortunately, Safe Air kept a lot of the tooling needed to produce the parts, which slowed wag down. They have gone from 5 pages of back order items to @ 1 1/2 pages. As they fill an order, they are making a run of the back ordered item to stock some inventory. They are getting there, so be patient.
Wag-Aero/Safe Air will be set up at Middletown. They might even give a talk about where they are at, where they intend to go with parts. Again, getting the parts sometime, was better than, "we sold our business, you are S.O.L.) My point of view, anyway. Yes, I am still awaiting my back ordered part!
