Has anyone done the leg work to get a new STC? I'm curious what it takes and if it's worth the hassle. Anybody in the "know"?
And if it mean's anything, it would be an airframe STC.

Nathan,
Last year, I bought a "new" STC for my Cherokee which added a below floor compartment in the baggage area. All it did was to partition off one side of the area below the baggage floor and added a top door and doubler. The owner of the STC said he spent $20,000 to get it blessed by the FAA.
