Re: Shoulder harnesses for S15AC
I put the Hooker Harness in the Sedan with Burl's attach points. Quick, easy and works great.

Re: Time to sell my '38 Chief
Nice looking airplane, wish I was in the market for one. Would probably start on Barnstormers, and if it were me I would put it up for $16,000 US and probably take around $14,000 if it's got a current annual. You will have a much improved chance of selling and hopefully not ending up talking with a ...

Re: N1378H in home!
Tom I would be very interested in the wheel pants, just sent you a pm with my email info. Got much better results with 20 psi. Still working out a long list of small squawks but it's going well. Did get a coat of wax on the rest of the fuselage and it's looking pretty good. Appreciate all of the inp...

Re: N1378H in home!
update on the shock cords, it currently only has the two installed. They were very recently reaplaced with the Burl recommended type and have about 30 landings on them. Here is a front view shot, just seems like a lot of camber, normal? Sorry, for some reason the pic is posting 180 out and I'm not s...

N1378H in home!
Hi all, New to the Sedan world and have about a million questions on the type. She's #427, has an O-300 A, metal tanks, Cleveland wheels, spar AD complied with (yeah, lots of holes but I don't mind), old Terra digital com and a transponder. Engine has around 850smoh, airplane was restored in 2004 by...

Pre war yokes with medallions
Hi everyone,
I have a set of yokes with medallions if anyone is looking. Medallions have been repainted but could be made to look nice with a bit of work.
n2064e@provide.net if interested.

Re: Cleaning and Waxing Stitts Polyfiber
Be careful using any wax that has silicone. I try to use only Carnuba wax on advice from Jim and Dondi Miller, the reasoning is that if you ever have to repair the fabric with a patch you can have problems with adhesion.

Tubing
Hi all,
I am doing some work swaps with a gent, I am finishing up recovering his wings and he will be doing the weld repairs on the 39 fuselages. Does anyone have a drawing or info on wall thickness etc for the different tubings?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Cowlings for 65C
Also on the topic of price, these pre war Chiefs are an ablsolute steal. Flying or some such magazine usually does an article on hidden buys and I am always suprised that the 65 series Chief does not come up. There was a really nice 65CA for sale in CA that did not sell for 25K, fully restored. I ca...

Re: Cowlings for 65C
I wonder if there was an option on the cowlings at the time of purchase. We have NC23925 a '39 65C and I have an old ad from a magazine that has NC23910 with an open cowl along with 3 more that way.
Also, seems like the person mentioned that made the cowl was in the Reed Hillview area.

Cowlings for 65C
Hi all,
I was wondering at what point Aeronca switched from the open to the closed cowl on the early Chiefs. Also, it seems like I can recall someone in California that was making cowlings, any info out there?
Thanks,
Scott

Hey Clint, Man seeing a run down airplane next to a tractor makes my heart go pitter pat. My wife's family lives in Wichita, if you don't mind I will look you up next time we visit. The restoration is going to be a great experience for you and my bet is by the time you are done, there will be lots o...
