Cleaning and Waxing Stitts Polyfiber

Anyone here have experience cleaning and waxing Stitts Polyfiber with Aerothane paint?

I gave the Chief a bath last year with water and a bit of Simple Green for Aircraft and that seemed to get most of the dirt off.

But the paint is dull from oxidation.

Thoughts?

You might want to try some 3M Perfect-It products like a mild rubbing compound to take off the oxidation then any good car wax. I like using Turtle Wax in the paste on fabric, seems to hold up the longest.

Dropped $13 bucks for Zymol at Wally World -- wow -- works great!

Highly recommended!

Beware -- all application and buffing done by hand. Whew.

I use automobile blue coral liquid soap and cold water to wash it, maybe twice a year, then dry it with a chamois. I then use Mothers california gold paste wax on all leading edges especially. To get bugs off I just use cold water and turkish towel. I spend very little time on underside of wings other than to keep them washed. I have wheel pants so not much mud etc. gets on bottoms. Windshield, cold water and turkish towel or McGuires plastic polish in grey bottle from NAPA. JP

Be careful using any wax that has silicone. I try to use only Carnuba wax on advice from Jim and Dondi Miller, the reasoning is that if you ever have to repair the fabric with a patch you can have problems with adhesion.
