blind rivets on tailfeathers?

Does anyone know if you can use blind rivets on tailfeathers? Obviously, they are steel and are plenty strong to take a rivet.

Re: Citabria wings

Thank you very much for your information. I wonder if this would also apply to Citabria wings with wood spars.

Re: Citabria wings

Thank you. I will try that. I thought someone on this post would have done it before if it was legal.

Re: Citabria wings

Why would you have to eliminate the 337 for auto fuel? Just because you have an auto fuel STC doesn't mean that you have to use it.

Re: Citabria wings

That sounds interesting. I have a set of wings, however, that have wood spars and a gas tank in each wing. They probably aren't as new as the ones you had installed.

Citabria wings

Does anyone know if it's legal to install Citabria wings with wood spars on a Champ? It looks like all of the structural components are the same. The Citabria wings have large tanks and the rib spacing looks a bit different when measured from the root end.

spray paint in a can

Boys, do you know what would really be handy? I'm sure many of you have tried to find a matching color in a spray can. I'm sure some of you have had success. I'm talking about painting inspection covers or touch up on a landing gear where you don't want to get out the heavy equipment. For example, K...

Re: Cabin Heat Success in11AC's

First of all, Hanlon Wilson mufflers give a lot more heat than the old "Y" muffs. I installed cabin heat on both sides which includes the carb heat side. I installed a 2" Y tube between the muffler and the carb box inlet. The heat can then go to either the cabin or the carb heat box. ...

Re: Cabin Heat Success in11AC's

For more heat, install cabin heat on the carb heat side also. I did that and I have to stop to cool off on our winter ski trips; well almost. I use Hanlon-Wilsons and they throw a lot of heat.

Re: new chief N9790E

I might add that anytime any of you airplane folks are in the area, stop by the COQ airport in Minnesota. There are usually some EAA 1221 guys around ready to argue who the best pilot is. We have some nice grass and long asphalt runways to land on. We've got some Aeroncas, Pipers, Taylorcrafts, home...

new chief N9790E

Hello, I just finished restoring a '46 Chief. I've gotten a lot of valuable information from this site over the years. I tried to post a picture here but this is a little too high tech for me. I have trouble with my GPS too. Is there an easy way to post a picture? There are some at our EAA 1221 webs...
