The Kit's were once supplied by the factory...I think. Now days Safe Air Repair are the goto guys for Aeronca's. I don't think they call specifically call them "Kit ___" but they will have what it takes. Give them a call and they can get you what you need, answer all your questions or simply ship you a catalog.

You can have a Big tail 85 or a Little tail 85, it all depends on which service bulletin you use. If you follow SB 13, 7AC to a 7BCM, it only calls for the engine change and baffleing changes. If you use SB14, 7AC to a 7DC, then you change the engine, baffleing, and you must install a reinforceing kit to the firewall structure and instal the big tail. Go to www.aeronca.com and click on "Service Letters" , you can look at them for yourself.
Serve it up to evolution. The BCM was fine, but they saw some refinements that needed to be made, so out popped the DC.
It's really nice this way. Some like the look of the big tail while others don't, but everybody get's the extra horse-power.
