85/90 HP LSA Champ Wanted

Anyone out there got a 85/90 hp LSA elgible Champ with a starter only for sale? No junk, willing to pay or trade for best--NO projects. Looking for a big tail, starter only Champ. I am getting to old and tired propping my 65 7AC by myself--my wife can't and my kids are never around when I want to go aviate and do the local neighborhood check and farm survey. This is due to age and priorities--I've got a Cessna 182 with a self commencer if I really want to go someplace. And, when I no longer want to go the FAA physical route I'll be ready and won't have to miss a lick. A 11BC with starter only might be an acceptable substitute.
My bad weather project (everyone needs a project) is a '39 Prewar Chief.
Any comments about wishes, age, propping and aircraft type are welcome. Just send me a message if you can fullfill the above mentioned bill.

Doug,

How about keeping the Champ that you have now and hanging a C85/C90 or O-200 on the plane? Then you can put a B&C or skytec starter on the plane and not have to worry with it.

Something to think about...

I have, but my search for a decent C85/90 has gone naught. Most have .010 cranks--even one with an .020 crank and +.015 cylinders with questionalble case and high price..Most I have found, the owners think they are gold. When overhauled they will be more than Gold. If I could find a decent 85 or 90 might go the 0-200 crank way--but presently any 85's I have found aren't worth the money. Have some friends looking, but nobody came up with anything yet. If anyone has a decent one let me know. My Champ is really a keeper. basically original with the right paint scheme. Even has float fittings. I don't need anymore junk--have a hangar full of it from days gone by. I would rather really not get involved in another project, but will keep my options open.

If I were to go that route -- looking for the quickets and easiest--would it be Lasher or Wagner STC. Gonna keep little tail. How about those that have done it chiming in. Do you have the Lasher & Wagner addresses and current prices?

Thanks for the info--I have ordered the STC, but frankly I don't want another project. I am redoing a number of screwups the previous owner did on my Prewar Chief and putting it back original. Am looking for a big tail, C85 Champ with atleast a starter and is LSA qualified. Don't need LSA now, but when I get tired of the FAA dance--no problems now. I just want to aviate until the day. If and when I find it, my 65hp Champ with original color scheme and etc,' will be for sale.

Will pay for a decent airplane, no junk or worn out trash--again--don't need any more projects. Over the years I have had my turn in the barrel. Been in aviation since 1946.
