What Ski to use on a Sedan

Post by sedanpilot »

Hi all. I want to go to skiis this winter, but I don't have any experience flying on skiis. I am wondering what size to shop for for a Sedan with a C145 Engine. I plan on landing on frozen lakes mostly, but maybe a few mountain tops that others have already scoped out.

It seems like Landis 2500 or 3000 are fairly popular as are the federal 2500.

Does anyone have any experience that might help?

Hi, Our sedan has federal 2500 with plastic bottoms and work fine.. How do you plan on moving the airplane around once it is on skis. Do you have ski dollies? I can show you how to make them. Materials are around 100 bucks, but they work pretty slick. I don't mess around with e-mail,, call me at 218-213-6030 if you have any questions about rigging or anything else. It is a blast on skis. --john
