The difference between A-65 and C-85 cranks.

How does one know the difference between an A- series tapered crankshaft and the C-series? I have been told that C-85's come with solid rod journlas and others have different sized holes machined into the rod journals.

Correct about the journals: C85's are solid and A65's are machined open. Otherwise they're the same crank dimentionally. At least I think they are...

A-65 on the far left, C-85 in the middle and right.
