Might try the FAA and get the disk for Alexander Eaglerock A-2, serial 914, N268V--It does not show on the records anymore, but the FAA might just have the early info. If they have it it should cost $10.

My Grandfather, I guess we skipped a generation. None of his kids flew, and I'm the only grandchild. I sure wish he was still around. He departed the patteren when I was 4. Cabin Waco and a Travel Air.

Mark, I know what you mean. My wife's dad pasted away before I met my wife. He flew gliders in WWII and made a number of landings including (I think) sicily, norway and normandy. I don't know if he would have talked about it, my Dad would not, but I would have enjoyed taking him flying. A part of his glider is on display in Texas. It was just outside of Dallas but I understand they moved the silent wings museum.

Both my Dad and my Uncle, have exhausted all resources in their search for it, to no avail. :(

All I want is th' Data tag, and th' logs. I can build the airplane.
Ran across 2 OX-5s in Fl. one ready to go, and the other near completion.

Do not give up. Scott Gifford of Nostalgiare in Prescott Arizona searched for years to find the MGM Ryan airplane, the one that flew Leo the Lion that we still see at the beginning of their movies.

He finally found the airplane crashed and burned in a canyon in Arizona and recovered the bits and pieces. Guess it stops here huh?

Scott went to MGM and convinced them that he was going to restore it and use it on the Antique circuit as a show plane, after restoring it exactly as it was when it crashed in the 1930's. MGM went back into their files and gave Scott the logbooks and signed over ownership of the airplane to him.

You can see his work restoring it here: http://www.nostalgaire.com/images/1927_Ryan_B-1.jpg When he is not restoring Aeronca's he is working on the Ryan, and his work is show quality.

If Scott can do it, anyone can!

Joe

Somewhere in my old pictures I have a photo of my Dad and some relatives standing along side what I believe to be an old Bellanca with a big radial engine. He was always kind of interested in flying but the farm, job and family responsibilities came first. I took him for a ride when I had my Cherokee and he was in his middle 70's so he could see the old farm from the air. Really enjoyed it (both of us). He's been gone some 17 years now and I miss him  .

Howdy,

This isn't as old as the other photos, but this is my dad and an original design airplane he built in 1956. It's still on the registry, in Michigan. I've tried to contact the current owner for current photos and info to no avail.

Scott,

Nice photos and welcome on-board!

Believe that we have another person on the list from Ponca City. He had a Champ and now has a Chief and for the life of me I forget his name right now.

Nice area, I used to live in Tahlequah years ago...

Joe,

Thanks. The Chief guy here in Ponca is Chris Hiatt. Both our airplanes are pictured here in the member's airplane photos.

I'm going to try and see if I can make Middletown in June, if I can, I'll see if I can drag him along.

Hope to see you in Middletown!
