New Fuselages and wing spars/webs

Well, all things come to he who waits. A fellow Sedan owner, Tom Lee of South Kent, CT has purchased the first new Sedan fuselage.

We expect to have our first new 15AC Sedan fuselage finished by the end of August 2008. We have been working on the fuselage fixture for the past 2 weeks and have all the basic sub-assembly fixtures completed.

The modeling for the airframe is complete. The tubes will be cut and delivered in the next 5-10 days. After that the assembly work begins. From the sub-assemblies the master fixture will be generated. From that the sub-assemblies will be removed to begin another fuselage, empennage or vertical stabilizer.

We have made enough of the miscellaneous fittings, gussets, brackets, attach fittings, etc for 4 more fuselages, too.

The wing spar drill jigs are completed now, too. The rear spars, inboard and outboard sections, will have the lightening holes punched and formed and then finished. The inboard section will be available with or without the rear spar steel fitting. The main spar webs, inboard and outboard sections, need to be sheared, lightening holes cut and formed. The main spar webs are completed only on order because of their size and fragile nature when finished.

We are looking for 4 more buyers for a new fuselage at the "introductory" price of $20,000.00 up until the end of 2008. Call us for more details. After that, the price goes to $25,000.00. STC's added are extra.

The seaplane door STC is undergoing an amendment now. The materials are being changed to materials on hand and using our handles, 3-point latch and pawl system for a better designed door. This includes the new door jambs/openings and the doors fabricated in the opening. All the owner will have to do is skin the door, add interior panels and sliding windows. Window channel is not included. More to work out but coming along nicely.

New tail sections will be available as a new sub-assembly with and without the vertical stabilizer. Top decks and bottom decks will follow as well as a complete cabin section if you only need a part of a fuselage.

If I buy a Sedan that does not have the seaplane door, how much is the STC and associated bits and pieces to modify the plane?

You are not helping me any!

Course if you hear of anyone looking for a nice Chief and help me sell it, I am paying commissions!

I called the Sedan owner 2-3 days ago and offered to put a deposit down on the one we looked at in Middletown. He declined saying that he would just spend it but he would hold it for a while for me and let me know if anyone else contacted him about it.

Believe that he knew that it would go to a good home so that helps my case.
