Compass - recommendation on a shop to recondition?

My compass is low on fluid. My A&P wants to replace with a new model. Is there a shop out there that can restore the original compass to serviceable condition? I would like to retain the original compass if possible.

If it is a B-16 it may be hard to find the parts and gaskets. The shop that did mine no longer does the B-16 (WW II military). They have no parts. One reason Aeronca used them was that they were surplus after WWII and cheap. Have your A&P put fluid in it. Can get the fluid from Aircraft Spruce or other sources. Basically it is mineral spirits.

I second what Doug says. If its just low on fluid, put some more in and fly.

There is a shop in PA that rebuilt my B-16 last year. The service was good and the turn around was less than a week. The only draw back was the cost. I believe it was about $150.00 to service this compass.
