Mandatory Placards

My buddy is finished with his 7FC restoration however, he needs to make sure he has all the mandatory placards. Could someone please advise. Thanks again ~Chris

Chris,

Thats easy. Have him look at the Type Certificate Data Sheet (google it) and everything that is required is listed there.

His IA will use this to go over the airplane and make sure that everything is right. As well anything on the airplane that is not on the TCDS has to be approved using a STC or 337.

Chris,

It was not easy and you had to have a lot of patience.

For instance, I build computers for a hobby, mostly for my friends and family. In the old days when you needed a program or driver for something you had to send a letter to a company and request the driver. Weeks later the post arrived and you got your file and you proceeded to finally make the video or game card or whatever you installed in the computer work for a change! Then imagine this being done using APO mail from Europe and it just gets better and better.

I restored my first Chief in 1980/81. Bought it in a pile of boxes but had a good friend helping me who knew Aeronca's. There was no forum or bulletin board to go to, you just asked friends or figured it out on your own.

Its a lot easier these days!
