Champ Wanted

I'm trying to find a nice champ for a friend of mine. Would like a C-85 or higher, fresh fabric, starter, and just an all around clean plane.

Just takes money, there are no less than 8 Champs and 10-15 Chiefs on barnstormers.com right now.

Prior to AirVenture and Sport Pilot you would be lucky to see two or three worth buying. Now (IMO) after mine spent a week on display at Oshkosh bringing attention to our little birds eligibility withing the SP ruling, everyone went home, dusted off the old Aeronca's and listed them on barnstormers for $10,000 more than they were selling for prior to SP.

I'm honestly glad mine didn't sell. I have had so much fun flying N85849 over 200 hours since getting her April 07. In fact the November issue of AOPA pilot training should have a little something about me in the why we fly section.

Ya I've seen the Champs on barnstormers. There are a few that fit the mold but they are all very far away. Might have to go that far if nothing else pops up. Thanks

Doesn't Grumps (on this site) have one for sale near you? Might only be 65hp though. Check the listing on here.

Ya its a 65. If it were my money that would be the plane. But my friend says he wants an 85 or better.

Hey Powers,
I don't know what kind of time frame your friend is in but heres the deal..... A good friend of mine who is an A/P just finished a champ and has decided he wants an RV-8. The plane has a Super 85 in it. I don't know what he will want for the plane but I could get you the information.
