C85 oil spring
Hey all, I was just taxiing around today for the weekly warm up and my oil pressure started going nuts, after my heart stopping i calmed down and checked it out... the pressure relief spring was broken..does anybody know where I can get a new one.

Nate makes a good point (looking for broken pieces). After 50 years of working on engines from 18 wheelers on down, I've never seen a broken oil pressure spring
. Weak or rubbed but never literally broken. It certainly could ruin your whole day, though.
Having said that, a couple of years after I sold my Cherokee (150 Lycoming) the new owner said the oil pressure dropped to the low side of the green or about 60 psi where it used to carry 85-90 psi hot at cruise. It wound up being the relief valve and spring that was causing the problem.
