Lycoming 0235 Conversion

Post by Eddie Wilson »

Hi,
I am looking for information on converting a 7AC project from the original Continental 65 to a Lycoming 0235 115 hp power plant. How difficult of a conversion is it? What mods are nessary? Cowling? Muffler? Prop? Engine mount? Is the performance gains worth the effort? I would like to hear from someone who has performed this engine swap. I am just wanting a headsup on what ahead!
Thanks

HI Eddie,
Your best bet is to email Don Eide. He has a beautiful Champ with a 115 Lycoming. I believe he's still at Oshkosh thru Sunday, but I'm sure he can answer any questions you have. Go to near the bottom of the second page of the "member list" and his email address is listed there. If, for some reason, you can't make connections, let me know and I'll help put you in touch with him.
