Grass Airports with Fuel

Post by Captgrumps »

Possibly flying an antique (not an Aeronca) from Georgia to Minneapolis later this year and would like to make all stops at grass fields with fuel. Would appreciate any information.

Believe that there is a website that contains only grass runways out there. AOPA or AirNav?

Doug,
Not sure we're exactly on your way (about 90 miles east of MSP) but the invitation is out if it works for you. We don't have actual fuel for sale on site but can probably fix you up if necessary. 2100 foot grass with 200 foot over runs on either end. AIRNAV 3WN9

Where in the Twin City area are going to end up?
Stop at the Stanton Airport just about 50 miles south/southeast of the Twin Cities. Beautiful smooth grass and nice people, watch for the gliders though.

While we are looking at this, I am hoping to fly the Sedan to Middletown next June for the Aeronca fly-in there.

Would MUCH rather land on grass than hard surface, so hope we can find a list of grass strips somewhere.

Tullhoma, Tn and Stanton is already on the list. Thanks. Looking for stops about every 200-250 miles. Will be going to Anoka.
