Champ restoration complete

Post by DELCOM »

Hello To All:

I have the delightful news to report that I have finished my restoration of N84029. Although I do not believe I will ever be done, done.
It has been a wonderful and very rewarding experience that I will hopefully be rewarded again and again as I comence to flying it. I wanted to take a moment to Thank all of you that answered many questions. I also want to comment on much was learned in just reading other posts. This is a great site that truly will prove out over time to be responsible in many ways in keeping many of these airplanes flying.
Yes.... I will post a few pics shortly

Thanks...... Del Chase

Hello To All:

Well I have now obtained about 10 hours of dual flight instruction in my airplane and could not be happier with the way it has turned out. The airplane handels like a dream and so far no problems have come up. Performance is well beyond my expectations and could not be more pleased. My instructor is always commenting on the fact that I have no bad habits from previous instruction and transitioning from conventional to tailwheel is not a problem.
I have done about 30-40 landings now unassisted and feeling good about my learning curve. Takeoffs were another story.................. "Why are you dancing the jitterbug with this pretty little balarina" is what I hear in my ear while in the takeoff roll. I think it is from years of flying it in the shop while building it. Today I seem to really have a handle on the fishtail on takeoff roll.
Well thanks to all for the help in restoring this fine ole airplane. I will post more later.
